The Aligned Business Solutions Implementation Methodology is a structured framework for technology deployment projects, derived from the collective years of technology implementation experience at Aligned Business Solutions. The Methodology includes structured (but flexible) models for team organization (roles and responsibilities), project processes, and technology architectures, and is designed to complement and integrate with existing processes or methodologies. The ABS Implementation Methodology is rooted in an iterative, multi-phased, development cycle that begins with a solid understanding of the functional requirements. This then facilitates the creation of a design, execution plan, and implementation activities—and then the cycle is reiterated, incorporating refinements derived prior iterations. The ABS Implementation Methodology organizes the solution approach into seven distinct phases during the Project lifecycle.
- Envision: Envisioning involves creating a business vision and defining the scope of work necessary to bring the vision to reality (e.g., business case justification, business studies, etc.).
- Plan: Planning continues through the development of detailed functional requirements, system, and a detailed Project plan for the remainder of the Project.
- Design: The Design Phase focuses on the system and application architectures, the user interface prototype, and a detailed Project plan for the remainder of the Project.
- Construct: The Construction phase begins with the first iteration of development and culminates with the “functionality complete” milestone (or Beta release).
- Test: The Testing phase involves solution testing and acceptance.
- Train: During this implementation phase all end-user training is accomplished in anticipation of going live.
- Deploy: The Deploying phase includes final development, release management, and deployment.
